The Little Bird

Once upon a time,

There was a little bird

Had nothing of her own,

Just a lifeless throne.

Had a beautiful voice of hers,

To please everybody around

And two small wings,

To flutter freely around.

But then they cut her tongue,

Burned her hopes away

Sliced her wing out,

And left her to die.

But no they didn’t leave her,

Her peace bothered them

Urged her to sing again,

And poked her to fly high.

How foolish they were,

Thinking they ruled her

But the throne was hers to claim,

And they never thought so.

So here they are,

And here she is

Helplessly lonely,

Neither dead nor alive.

Rainbow

Rainbow is the bow of happiness,

It comprises of seven colours,

It takes away every one’s sorrows,

It’s colours are same as flowers.

Rainbow comes after rain,

It takes away every one’s pain,

The magic of rainbow,

Tells the rain and clouds to go.

When comes the beautiful rainbow,

It tells the clouds to go,

To remember the colour of rainbow,

Remember the word VIBGYOR,

‘La vie est belle’

It all started that one fine day

A day that had been marked in my calendar for a while now

A day I knew would change everything, I just didn’t know how

The day I turned thirteen

I was officially a teen,

No longer was I a kid sitting on the side-lines as it had always been

No more restrictions, that in my mind was altogether out of the scene

I finally felt like I could do whatever I wanted, no more routines

But I was so wrong

Fantasy and reality are kept separate for reasons

Those dreams of happiness soon turned to fearful seasons

It’s the hormones, obviously not what I’ve chosen

It’s all their fault, it’s those stupid emotions

But no matter who or what I blamed, every day started leaving me a little bit frozen

An imaginary audience would weave through my thoughts

Make my decisions and aggravate my messes further into knots

I’d create these personal fables in my mind

Turning my uniqueness into isolation, I became blind

And mistakes in my life were all I could find

I am a teenager at the end of the day

But that’s just an excuse, that’s what the previous generations might say

I wished I could be someone else, that’s all I’d pray

But the voices in my head, they screamed for the truth and they just didn’t go away

So there were times I tried to be another,

Where I tried to be perfect in vain

Where I put up a wall and didn’t let my actions speak the words I wanted to say

For if they heard, they’d think I wasn’t sane

But deep in my city of refuge, bricks of hope would fall down again and again

Not knowing, that solitude and lies are not what life wants me to gain

This isn’t just my story

It belongs to countless others, just like me

I’m just the one trying to make you all see

Solving a problem requires you to know the problem, that’s how you set it free

We stare at mirrors at the tears run down

Whispering to ourselves that we cannot drown

Hoping we believe the smile we show instead of the frown

In the process, not realising how our ideals shut down

We’re afraid to take help when we know we need it

For we think about how the judgement will come bit by bit

And how by disheartening mockery we will be hit

Never knowing the benefits of the risk until we manage to take it

And how all these problems we could learn to omit

We laugh when people share their misery

Making them wish their names would already be written down in history

We add insults upon their existing injury

If only we’d realize, we could be the cause of their liberty

We’re not perfect and we’re not always okay

But each adolescent deserves to be happy, that’s what I’m here to say

And as we move on with life, I hope we all find our way.

The White Face

In the midnight,

Along with the moonlight,

I was walking down the street with fear,

As I thought an evil would eat me up and tear,

With sweat of fear on my face,

I passed every pace,

With the nights getting darker,

My thoughts getting scarier,

Then something made me stop,

I thought it was nothing but a cop,

But I was absolutely wrong,

For it was a woman who was tall,

She hid her face and I only saw her hair,

And her hands were really fair,

She then started walking down,

And I followed her down into the peaceful town,

But after sometime she turned left into the forest,

And then I realized I was lost and I got tensed,

She then started running,

Perhaps she saw me and thought I was cunning

But she could not run and fell down while the race,

And I could see just a paper white face,

It had no eyes, nose or lips,

Still I could hear her giving me tips,

She gave a scary smile as if she had a mouth,

I could not bear the fear and gave a loud shout,

She then got up and came near,

I was all sweating with fear,

And suddenly she made a wrinkled white face,

And disappeared without any trace,

I could do nothing but only stare,

As I watched her vanish in the thick air.

Magic & Science as Far as we Understand

Magic as many may understand, can be something that science doesn’t understand yet, or magic represents an essential mystery that can’t be rationally understood. Whereas science, has always been regarded as the study that provides a proof for what has been witnessed, observed and concluded. It is real as all of us will agree. But what if we try to understand magic more than in its preternatural sense? Will it open new doors to how we look at it? Will we start understanding that science and magic may not be antagonist words after all?

In his fourth novel-Cat’s Cradle,  the famous american writer quotes that, Science is magic that works. Unknown to many this five worded statement holds a deeper meaning of science and magic.

In grades 6th and 7th, we have been constructing 60 degree angles and perpendicular bisects but little had we known that these aren’t just mere constructions but constructions with proof. Maybe likewise the paranormal activities collectively called magic is the point of time that kindles the idea of something. And that something over time has been reasoned and understood by organisms of high intellectual capacity, thus then being known as science. This is what Thor explains when he says, You’re ancestors called it magic, and you call it science. Well,  I come from a place where they are the same thing.

The point of understanding what magic is today, is to understand the science of tomorrow.

Many of us, fascinated by science may not believe in magic but it is essential to realise that magic is what, that has given birth to science.

Isn’t it mystical that king Raivata, along with his daughter Revathi went to a different world to meet Brahma, the creator and on their return they find that several thousand years have passed on earth whereas they just spent a day there??

but it’s today’s science!! Einsteins theory of relativity is based on nonlinear time dilation and its relation to speed of light and movement in space. The recent megahit movie: Interstellar, brought this concept to limelight, didn’t it?

During the great war of the Mahabharata, Sanjaya – the charioteer was given the power to view the happenings of the battlefield and narrate them to the blind king Dhritarashtra. hasn’t since made it possible to watch an event live,  from the other side of the world? It’s no more a miracle today,  when we have the game changer television. Interestingly television is said to come from Greek, telephone meaning- far off or at a distance.

As defined in the Oxford dictionary,  magic isn’t the power of apparently influencing events by using mysterious or supernatural forces. Nor is it something way different from science. Magic is the origin of Science. But, if magic is the origin of Science, then why is it referred as the failed science?

When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible,he is certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is probably wrong- Arthur C. Clarks  first law.

A Show by the Mask Club

A spectacular skit was staged by the members of the Mask Club in the Indraprastha Auditorium during the assembly. The script titled ‘Chimta’ (Hindi Version) is a story well documented & written by Munshi Premchand which depicts the much deserved respect & love of a boy named Hamid for his old & frail grandmother, which seems humane.
The students played their respective characters extremely well, they articulated beautifully & did justice to their characters which moved many to tears. The play was ably supported and complemented well by lighting, sounds, props, make- up & costumes. The creative instincts & the stellar performances of the SAIoneers were much acclaimed & applauded by the audience.
At SAI the students are given ample opportunities to showcase their creative talents. Through theatre training the children imbibe the life skills which help them to adapt themselves better to the changing environment in a prudent manner.

Lark – The Mother

I saw a little lark

Sitting on a tree bark

Chirping a song of peace

Singing only for its babies

Swinging its wing and soaring up

To teach its baby, how to fly up

Oh! It is just like my mother

Who also teaches me how to nurture,

The world through peace and love

As we are all God’s dove

So, let’s spread the message of peace

Like a mother to all its babies

Remember both the lark and our mother

Who are always with us forever

Flower

The  petals shine

All arranged  in a line

Glory of the flower

Always become mine,

The long stalk

To whom-  I  always talk,

That’s   a bit  -Oh ! too long

Even  it  likes to sing a song ,

When the Dandelion showers

It turns in to the lovely flowers,

The Sun flowers are graceful

But the Raffelesia  are  like gigantic towers,

Up above the leaves of the tree

They are always free

What about the  flowers ?

You know that they are  always  up to hilarity,

All flowers act as lozenge to my eye

My eyes flash with joy

I can never forget the beauty

Even if I’m busy with my duty.

My School

We come on time to study,
And try to make a buddy.
We form our own understanding,
Just for listening a few outstanding!
I wanted to learn what a school is,
And when I joined I knew what it is.
It is a place of complete learning,
A place the teacher gives their teaching!
In our school ,we have got swimming pools,
But we need to follow the rules.
We play many games like football,
But we ought not to blow away the ball!
It is my home, sweet home,
A place my fantasy is run over with gnomes.
It feels like I miss it a lot,
The time when I take vacations a lot!
My sweet big school,
Sai International School.
A complete time of fun,
A place where we are never too busy to run!
